Armor is everywhere in the photos for Game of Thrones’ second episode of its final season, but there are still a few surprises to be had.

Happy Wednesday, Game of Thrones fans! Some things might be different in this final season, but one tradition, at least for now, is remaining the same. It’s Wednesday, and that means images from this week’s new episode are now live.

We’ll start with the above image, which also comes from next week’s episode. First off, note that Daenerys isn’t wearing armor. We’ve been complaining about this since season 7, so you’ll forgive us if we continue harping on it now that we’re in the endgame. With Varys, it makes sense that he wouldn’t armor up; with Jorah, we’ve dived into his armor ahead of the season premiering, since he sports it in his poster.

Bran, sitting around and staring at things? Not new. Bran out in the godswood, though, suggests that he might be using his powers to try and divine as much as he can before the Night King takes notice again.

This image is too happy and adorable. One of them is going to die soon.

We wish we were joking.

Say what you will about Sam’s development basically into someone who’s there to say things that no one else wants to hear (but with emotions), but the expression he has on his face here as he looks at Jon has just a little bit of doubt.

If we had to guess, it’s likely from this same scene, too, based on the lighting. Arya’s short enough that she could be hidden behind Jon from the perspective the above photo was shot at. Check out Jon’s clothes, by the way. They’re far less formal, and he has a side dagger now as well.
