Lucious tries to make nice with Kingsley while Kingsley cozies up to the feds. Will father and son kiss and make up on the latest episode of Empire?

Lucious wants to right things with Kingsley to balance out the karma that he thinks led to Andre’s illness. But Kingsley seems more interested in buddying up with the FBI to take Lucious down. Here’s what the latest SpoilerTV press release had to say:

"As the Feds close in on Empire, Jeff Kingsley seeks the truth about what really happened between Lucious and Tracy Kingsley (guest star Amanda Detmer). Meanwhile, Teri (guest star Meta Golding) and the Lyons pray for Andre’s health, and Cookie faces the truth about her relationship with Damon Cross (guest star Wood Harris). Jamal and Kai reach an understanding, while Hakeem attempts to figure out where he stands among his relationships in the all-new “A Wise Father That Knows His Own Child”"

Kingsley’s storyline reminds me of the African proverb, “The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.” Kingsley grew up without his father’s love and, presumably has spent a long time without his mother’s full affection because of her health. Now, we see Kingsley preparing to take a torch to Empire in revenge for Lucious’ prolonged absence in his life. But since Lucious genuinely didn’t know about Kingsley (or so we’re led to believe), can Kingsley be diverted from his path of destruction?

On the other side of things, Lucious wants peace with Kingsley, but it appears to only be in order to protect his other firstborn, Andre. Will Lucious’ Hail Mary effort to embrace Kingsley have the desired effect, or will Kingsley see through Lucious’ act and continue his vendetta against him?
