It’s amazing that Cersei Lannister has made it to the final season of Game of Thrones, but viewers have to wonder what will become of her reign this year.

Cersei Lannister isn’t a character most Game of Thrones fans believed would survive to see the eighth and final season of the show. But the eighth season premiere is only a few days away, and Cersei remains very much alive—and sitting on the Iron Throne. Her reign isn’t just by association this time either. She’s officially the queen of Westeros on her own terms, without a husband or child to thank for her power over Westeros. Whether by ruthlessness or sheer luck, she’s made it to the end, and she’s only gained power as the series progressed.

But given how many enemies Cersei has made over the past seven seasons—from major players like the Starks and Daenerys Targaryen to her own brothers—it seems plausible that Cersei’s upswing will come to an abrupt end this season. At least, that’s what most fans are hoping for and counting on. It’s also entirely possible that Cersei will have more surprises in store for viewers before the series draws to a close.

Whether Cersei’s story ends in survival or her demise, one thing is certain: There are plenty of ways her final moments on the show could play out. Here are a few last-minute predictions for what will happen to Cersei during the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.
