Ready for the great outdoors! Project Runway season 17 episode 4 has the designers ditching the work room for something far different. While many of these designers might be accustomed to glamping, this outdoor experience is definitely a little more than roughing it.
For Project Runway fans, the unconventional materials challenge is always a popular episode. In previous seasons, the designers have tackled party stores, airline materials and even newsprint. For this revamped Project Runway, the designers must find their inspiration from nature.
Looking at this week’s preview clips, the designers seem a little overwhelmed. Whether fellow designers really stole Hester’s materials pile or not, the story will definitely unfold and add to the designer drama.
It is a good thing that she has immunity this week. It is doubtful that the judges would appreciate an Adam and Eve minimalist leaf outfit.
So far, the work room drama hasn’t been too central to each episode. While this show is “reality” television, it is refreshing to see more of the designs and fashion than the cattiness behind the scenes.
Hopefully, this week’s challenge will showcase some different designers. While everyone has been enthralled with Sebastian, other designers have had some lovely looks strut the runway. Even though it is the beginning of the season, it would be nice to see some unfamiliar faces.
The biggest difficulty with this episode will be constructing the outfits in the camping area. Granted the materials are unconventional, but construction needs to be on point. Hopefully, someone brought a really, really long extension cord to the woods.
