Sal Valentinetti

At the beginning of his audition, Sal Valentinetti immediately shocked the judges and the audience with his smooth-talking deep voice and New York-Italian accent. He’s been categorized as an old soul due to his wish to bring the music era of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Valentinetti told the judges that his love for this era of music began because of his grandmother who recently passed away. In an effort to honor her, he sang “My Way” by the wonderful Frank Sinatra.

He made quite the impression on AGT judge Heidi Klum who hit the Golden Buzzer for the 20-year-old singer, sending him straight to the live show. He ended up placing fifth overall, but still managed to win America over.

Since his time on the show, Sal has re-joined the America’s Got Talent family, making an appearance as one of the contestants on AGT: The Champions. He performed the song “Mack the Knife,” and received a lot of praise from the judges who noted that he was still an enticing performer with a lot of warmth and soul. Unfortunately, he didn’t get enough votes to make it past the preliminaries, but we’re still proud of his routine and how far he’s come in the past few years.
