Jeffrey Li

13-year-old Jeffrey Li touched our hearts with his rendition of Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up.” His beautiful voice stunned everyone and brought a lot of people to tears, and rightly so. He even got a Twitter shoutout from Mr. Josh Groban himself.

Before he sang, Simon Cowell asked him what he would do if he won a million dollars. Li didn’t have to think twice and said he’d probably get a dog (which is definitely a reasonable first purchase).

“If you do well, I’m gonna buy you a dog,” Simon promised the young singer. And boy did he deliver! The emotion on both of his parent’s faces as he performed was so heartwarming and you could tell that they were both proud of him. He made it to the judge-cuts round and sang “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston. Unfortunately, his performance did not get him through to the next round.

Li is still performing as much as he can for different events. He’s happy living his life as a teenager and is still working towards a career as an artist. His audition has since been viewed over 31 million times on YouTube and we find that to be unsurprising. People will probably be watching his video for years to come.
