Justin Rhodes was on season 9 of America’s Got Talent. A singer-songwriter/piano player, he sang Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” for the judges and, in our opinion, did an amazing job.

As we’ve mentioned earlier, many of these performers have incredible stories talking about how their journey led them to the stage. Rhodes went through a rough patch where he became addicted to drugs and alcohol and was in a dark place in his life. Luckily, he pulled through and was able to become sober.

He credits his dad for his initial love of music, playing the piano, and singing. For the first time, Justin’s dad saw him perform as an adult on the show, and it was clear to see that he was very proud of his son.

Rhodes occasionally still uploads content to YouTube, but it seems that he’s taken a bit of a break from the limelight. Having had the support of millions of people encouraged him to keep going with his music. However, his dad may even be considered his number one fan. Watch the emotional moment and cry along with us.
