Style Diaries: How to dress like beauty maven Rihanna

Denim is one of those looks that always seems to work or be in style. While we may not be able to snag the exact same outfit that the singer rocked for the Forces of Fashion Conference, that doesn’t mean we can’t find pieces that work for us on a budget.
Considering how easily we can mix and match denim with other pieces in our closet, this look is one we don’t mind grabbing for ourselves. Although we may not be able to find the boots the singer is rocking, that doesn’t mean we haven’t found a nice alternative we think would still work, both with the outfit we chose as an alternative, and also with other pieces.
Target is a great place to find nice denim pieces, which is why we looked there for our denim jacket. While we would wear at least a camisole underneath, we love the women’s Freeborn Denim Jacket in a medium wash. Not only is it good for replicating the singer’s look, but it can also be worn with any number of pieces. At $29.99, you won’t feel guilty picking one up for your closet.
Sticking to Target, we also found a great denim mini skirt in a dark blue wash. While the blues are not an exact match, we are okay with this. This is a staple piece that can be worn with so many looks, and since it is $24.99, you know it is a budget friendly addition to the shopping cart.
Rather than try to find the perfect boot to mimic the pair Rihanna is wearing, I chose to find a pair of denim heels that have a bit of flair, similar to the boots the singer wore. That’s why I think the Jessica Simpson Pralista Pump is a winner. Not only do they have a touch of style thanks to a line of fraying at the toe area and at the heel, but since they are $59.99, you will love the fact that you stay on budget. Wear these with other denim pieces or jazz up a little black dress.
Basically, this is denim, and that means you can have some fun. Play with these pieces and enjoy the versatility they offer your wardrobe.
