Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 19 live stream: Watch online

Tonight’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy promises to be “one hour of astounding television.” With Jo potentially meeting her birth mother, we’re sure it will be.

Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff has described this week’s episode as “the most powerful hour of TV I’ve ever been a part of.”

It appears this week’s episode will have to do with the issue of consent, as Vernoff said the Grey’s writers were captivated by the recent testimony of Christine Blasey Ford against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The first theory that comes to mind is Dr. Jo Karev’s birth mother gave her up because she became pregnant following a sexual assault. This could explain why at the end of last week’s episode, Jo is seen hiding under the covers, in bed, looking extremely traumatized.

In promos for tonight’s episode, Jo is seen asking a woman — assumed to be her birth mother — who her father is. If the reveal is as theorized above, we can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak and trauma that will bring to Jo.

Below is a summary for tonight’s episode:

"When a trauma patient arrives at Grey Sloan, it forces Jo to confront her past; Bailey and Ben have to talk to Tuck about dating."

If our theories are correct, perhaps the patient that has come to Grey Sloan is someone who has been assaulted and Jo is put on his or her case. We already have chills thinking of how these events will play out on screen.

Our hope is that Dr. Jo Karev is able to grow from learning who her birth mother and father are, instead of sinking into herself.
