The Doom Patrol will meet the Doom Patrol. What could possibly go wrong?

Doom Patrol has a habit of wonderfully mixing oddities, tragedy and exciting visuals, and that streak won’t likely end on this week’s episode, “Doom Patrol Patrol.” Featuring an iconic crossover event between the original Doom Patrol and the kinda, sorta Doom Patrol, episode 6 will likely give us some insight on Niles Caulder.

Last week, the apathetic heroes stopped the apocalypse and potentially Barry Allen’ed the timeline, so they should be prepared for any obstacles this week. Right? With an omniscient supervillain who hates Niles Caulder and everyone associated with him, there’s arguably a lot of shenanigans the team(s) can inadvertently get into. There’s a lot that can happen while part of the dysfunctional family is on a discovery mission; however, the plot synopsis doesn’t help us with our spoiler-sleuthing journey.

Based on the synopsis for this week’s episode, “Doom Patrol Patrol,” any ominous plot details are being held captive, and we blame Mr. Nobody, i.e. the thematic hostage-holding villain:

"Following a clue left by Mr. Nobody, Jane, Larry and Rita visit a school where Niles’ previous team of heroes, the original Doom Patrol has retired. Meanwhile, Cliff and Vic tenuously bond over their mutual “father issues"

Once again, the dysfunctional family is ignoring the basic rule of every horror production. You know: The part where you’re supposed to stick together for survival. Sure, the not-yet-official team is only confined to a series with horrifying undertones, so they should be relatively unscathed in the episode — or so we hope. Seeing as some of the episode’s photos contain Easter eggs in the form of Wonder Woman memorabilia, we can probably count on some comic book meta-references though.

If you live in the US and you still don’t have a DC Universe subscription (for whatever reason), the pilot episodes for all the DCU originals are now available for free on the streaming platform. Now, you can convince your friends to keep up with your latest Doom Patrol fan theories by coyly sending them a link to test out the service.
