Katy Keene pilot: Everything we know about the cast so far

The cast of the Katy Keene pilot is coming together quickly. Not only do we know who is coming over from Riverdale, but we now have our Katy Keene.

When it was announced that the world of Riverdale was expanding, we were excited to see who would be joining the fray. And while Katy Keene is not going to be a true spin-off series, it will feature one of the cast members of Riverdale (which we expected honestly). However, it is the character of Katy Keene that we were most excited to see cast, and now we have an answer.

According to Variety, Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars fame is set to take on the titular role, and we could not be more excited. Not only is Hale an excellent actress, but we can’t wait to see her take on this iconic comic character.

Lucy Hale as Katy Keene

In the original comics, Katy Keene is a model, actress, singer, and fashion designer on the rise. And in the new series, she is described as being a personal shopper with a desire to become a fashion designer. With Lucy Hale stepping into this role, we can’t wait to see how she brings this multi-talented character to life, especially if the focus is on her desire to be a fashion designer.

Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy

However, Hale is not the only cast member who has been announced, as it seems we have the entire core cast already pulled together. And this includes our resident Riverdale songstress, Josie, played by Ashleigh Murray. If the pilot is picked up by The CW, Murray will be leaving Riverdale behind for the big city and the world of Katy Keene, which is certainly exciting for those of us eager to hear the actress break out her musical abilities on a more regular basis.

Sterling Knight as Randy Von Ronson

Then we have Sterling Knight, who will be playing Randy Van Ronson. Randy is said to be the world’s wealthiest tycoon in the classic Katy Keene comics. However, that is not all there is to this character, as he is also one of Katy’s love interests. We think Knight is the perfect person to portray this character. Not only does he have a musical background, to go along with his acting abilities, but this is his chance to move away from his Disney Channel roots and find a new audience to love him (just like Riverdale‘s Cole Sprouse did as Jughead).

James Maslow as Alan M. Mayberry

According to IMdb, James Maslow is joining the cast as well, as Alan M. Mayberry, a long time roadie with Josie and the Pussycats. That’s not all, though: at one point, Alan and Josie end up dating as well. While we haven’t heard anything about the Pussycats joining Josie in the new series, that is not to say the singer won’t find a new group to croon with. Having a roadie on hand makes perfect sense. Of course, the fact that Maslow is taking on the role is exciting in terms of his vocal chops, and we can only hope to hear him sing his way through the show.

Julia Chan as Pepper Smith

Julia Chan is giving life to the character of Pepper Smith, according to PopBuzz. Pepper is described as an “It Girl” in New York City, and someone who seems to have a lot of money, even though no one is quite sure where it all comes from. While she has big dreams, it seems like she has some big secrets too.

Lucien Laviscount as Alexander Cabot

Lucien Laviscount, who some viewers may remember from Scream Queens, is taking on the role of Alexander Cabot. Alexander has a sister named Alexandra, is the CEO of his father’s company, and is even a DJ at a club. But, unlike his sister, he is not driven by money, but rather his dreams, which is why he is said to be a lot more humble and willing to take a subway to get where he needs to go.

Camille Hyde as Alexandra Cabot

Speaking of Alexandra Cabot, the actress taking on the role of Alexander’s sister is Camille Hyde, also known as the Pink Ranger in the Dino Charge series. Alexandra is a socialite in the city, with a competitive nature and a desire to be feared and respected in equal measure. Unlike her brother, she has a different vision for the family company, and has no problem using the wealth at her disposal.

Jonny Beauchamp as Jorge/Ginger Lopez

Jonny Beauchamp is taking on a very interesting role, as he will be playing Jorge Lopez, an aspiring actor, looking to be on Broadway. While he also works at his family Bodega, and is even a bartender to pay the bills, it is his turn as the drag queen Ginger that we can’t wait to learn more about.

Peyton Meyer as Perry

Finally we have Peyton Meyer, who will take on the role of Perry. And while we don’t know much about the role yet, it is nice to see Meyer on our screens. Viewers may recognize the actor from shows like American Housewife or Girl Meets World. And we can’t wait to see what kind of character he will be playing, and if he is another love interest for Katy or not.

With the cast coming together for the Katy Keene pilot, we can’t wait to see how the series comes to life. There is a lot more that we don’t know yet, but the fact that we have our titular star, and the people who will help bring this series to life makes all the difference.
