Supergirl season 4 episode 14 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
On Supergirl this week, the conflict between humans and aliens comes to a head. Here are all the details you need on how to watch the episode.
After airing a single episode in February due to awards shows and the Super Bowl, Supergirl returned to a regular schedule last week. Fortunately, the episode was worth the wait.
“What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?” saw the formation of several new alliances. First, Manchester Black broke out of prison and assembled a team of alien dissidents (or terrorists, depending on your point of view) called The Elite, essentially declaring war on humanity. Meanwhile, President Baker not only gave Ben Lockwood a pardon but also appointed him Director of Alien Affairs, cementing the government’s position in the war. And, disillusioned by the president’s actions, Alex agreed to help Lena with her experiments.
Supergirl still refuses to choose a side, struggling to fight the Children of Liberty while resisting The Elite’s extremism, but as tensions continue to rise, her stance seems increasingly untenable.
Those tensions are bound to boil over in this week’s episode, titled “Stand and Deliver.” You can read the official plot synopsis below, courtesy of The CW:
"SUPERGIRL TAKES A STAND — Between Ben Lockwood’s (Sam Witwer) new push to stir up the anti-alien movement and the Elite’s desire to target Lockwood and his minions, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is concerned about the safety of the American people – both human and alien. When Lockwood organizes a rally, the aliens decide to peacefully protest. Brainiac (Jesse Rath) and J’onn (David Harewood) join the alien march while Supergirl and Dreamer (Nicole Maines) patrol to keep everyone safe. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) picks up his camera again to cover the march for CatCo, and Hayley (April Parker Jones) assigns Alex (Chyler Leigh) a job that clashes with her beliefs. When The Elite and Ben Lockwood stir up trouble at the rally, Supergirl is forced to take a stand."
Might this be the closest Supergirl has gotten to a bottle episode? There are few narrative tactics in episodic television as reliable in terms of creating drama as forcing a bunch of characters to share the same space for an extended amount of time. Due to its public nature, Lockwood’s rally will likely make his Thanksgiving spree look like child’s play. We may not be fans of violence, but we are fans of exciting TV, so we can’t wait.
Andi Armaganian directs from a script by Rob Wright and Jess Kardos.
