Steve Rogers is the most likely to die

Every nerdy friend group has a running bet on which of the Avengers is most likely to die in Avengers: Endgame. The newer Avengers are typically out of the running because the MCU wouldn’t permanently axe its new arrivals.

Regardless of your specific fandom, Captain America is probably one of the top candidates in your bets. He’s a noble, self-sacrificing hero, who already sacrificed himself in his first titular film. We know he didn’t actually die because he’s still here, but he thought he was going to and fully accepted his death at the time.

In Captain America: The First Avenger, he sacrificed his life to save thousands of people. Now, the stakes are saving billions of people, plants, animals, and every lifeform in between. Given the opportunity, Steve Rogers would almost eagerly give up his life to save half the universe. With the approaching rematch against Thanos, his sacrifice could be on the battlefield or he could let another character use his death as a sacrifice so that the remaining Avengers can use the Soul Stone against Thanos. Nevertheless, it would almost seem out of character if Steve didn’t at least try to give up his life to save other people (or billions of others).
