Star Wars Resistance preview: The First Order unleash Starkiller Base

Agent Tierny continues to interrogate Tam, while Kaz and Torra secretly witness the First Order’s might in these Star Wars Resistance previews.

So many things are happening all at once, it’s hard not to get overwhelmed when it comes to this next all-new episode of Star Wars Resistance.

To start off, Agent Tierny is still trying to get answers out of Tam. The thing is Tam doesn’t know anything, since Yeager and Kaz had kept her and Neeku in the dark all season long. What’s going to happen to her when Tierny realizes she’s not as useful as she seems? Could Tam be used as some form of bait to lure Kaz out? Or could Tierny persuade Tam to bring her loyalties over to the First Order?

There’s also the fact that Yeager was captured in the previous episode. What will the First Order do to him, especially if he doesn’t cooperate and give them the answers they need? Thankfully, this won’t be the last time we see Yeager, since we still have to see him, Major Vonreg, and the ace pilots take to the skies in what will inevitably be an epic sky battle, as seen in the midseason trailer.

Speaking of which, what have the ace pilots been up to? They’re not able to race because of the First Order’s presence, so they’re probably just as frustrated with them as everyone else. Looking back at the midseason trailer again, we do see glimpses of Griff Halloran standing nearby Kel and Eila. We can’t wait to see him and the others take to the skies and show the First Order that they’re not just untrained pilots.

As for Hux’s appearance in the show, it’s great how we get to see this particular moment in Star Wars: The Force Awakens from a different perspective. It gives us a better idea of how other First Order-occupied worlds were exposed to his speech. It’s very similar to Order 66 and how Darth Sidious’ execution of the Order appeared from trooper to trooper via hologram.

We’re also extremely curious to find out how the rest of the scene will unfold. Will Kaz realize immediately what Hux is implying in his speech? Will we see the destruction of the Hosnian system in animated form? If Kaz figures it out, how will that reality affect him? Will it embolden him, or will he back down and take time to grieve?

We also can’t wait to see Torra take on more action in this episode as she works alongside Kaz. Having helped Yeager and Kaz sink the Colossus, Captain Doza is surely in trouble with the First Order. Will she help her father escape their clutches? His relationship with the First Order has always been precarious and it’s been escalating ever since. Could Captain Doza be a possible casualty during the season finale?

All we know is that these next two episodes are going to blow our minds in unexpected ways. The season up until this point has been absolutely delightful, introducing us to lovable characters and intriguing storylines. We have no doubt the two-part season finale will be just as exceptional.
