Blue sweater and multi-colored skirt

We love seeing sweaters with skirts that are flowy and less structured. When you have an outfit like this, you know you can wear it to multiple places and it still looks good. From work to a day out, this is an outfit that works in just about any situation. It also helps that Emily Blunt paired the sweater and skirt with pink sandals that are elegant but relatively simple in nature.

With this pop of color in your wardrobe, you know you can brighten any day. Plus, with this ensemble being comprised of separate pieces, you can mix and match to change-up your look when you want to. Pair the skirt with a different style of top or a different colored sweater. Or take the sweater and pair with jeans or slacks for an even more dressed down look.

And if you are like me, your first thought when you saw this sweater was of the scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Andy laughs about the blue belts, while wearing a similar blue sweater. In the scene Miranda quickly takes her to task about the color, pointing out that it is not just blue, “it’s actually cerulean.”

So, on the hunt for a blue sweater that would work for our budget-friendly alternative, I’ll admit I was specifically on the hunt for a cerulean shade. While the sweater I found is called Admiral Blue, it is relatively close to the one the actress is wearing, which is why this b. Young Boat Neck Sweater was our choice for giving you a look similar to Blunt’s. And at just $20, this is the kind of sweater you won’t mind snagging for multiple looks.

While we couldn’t find an exact replica of the skirt the actress is wearing, we think this black and white striped skirt from Chicwish is a great alternative. The Chic in Stripes A-line Midi Skirt has a fun and retro vibe that we think would still pair nicely with this sweater. And the fact that it is black and white also means it becomes a utility piece in your wardrobe.
