Although “Chapter Forty-Eight’s” title “Requiem for a Welterweight” is probably referring to Archie and his foray into boxing, I’d like to think it’s about the upcoming Veronica/Gladys showdown. I’m officially a Gladys Jones stan, and Riverdale’s decision to put Veronica in her way has me feeling very conflicted. While I usually root for Veronica, no matter how much unearned confidence she possesses, there is not a universe in which I am going to root against this new badass heroine. Sorry, folks, don’t @ me. I am willing to die on this Gladys Jones hill.
