Tonight on Grey’s Anatomy, a massive overdose in the Seattle community sends a flurry of patients to Grey Sloan.

On Grey’s Anatomy, Owen and Amelia’s struggle to keep a family together may be one of the hardest to watch. They adopted Betty, a young struggling drug addict with a newborn, along with her newborn son, Leo. The two have been working to help Betty get over her addiction ever since taking her in.

Amelia’s connection to Betty has been endearing to watch, as she is a former addict herself and knows the hardship of staying sober. Over the last few episodes, we’ve seen Owen and Amelia’s relationship tested by trying to help Betty, while also learning that Owen’s ex-flame Teddy is pregnant with his child.

Following the explosive news that Betty has been lying to both of them ever since she met them (her name is Brittney and she gave Owen and Amelia a fake contact for her parents), Owen and Amelia now face Leo being possibly taken by Brittney’s parents. Betty/Brittney is missing also, just to add to the drama they’re dealing with.

The summary for tonight’s episode is below previews things may get a lot worse.

"While Meredith breaks a hospital record, the rest of the doctors are sent scrambling in the wake of a massive overdose within the community. Meanwhile, Jackson wants to take a reluctant Maggie camping, and Levi and Nico’s relationship continues to develop."

Per previews for tonight’s episode, a massive overdose hitting the community also brings Betty/Brittney into the hospital — and it’s possible her overdose may take her life.

If this happens, it’ll shake everyone that has cared for her. And yes, while she does have a living, breathing mother who loves her and would be broken if she died, Amelia may take it the hardest of all. Overdosing, death, all of it is too familiar to her, and the connection she has with Betty is so strong because she truly knows what she is going through.

Seeing Amelia break down in this preview doesn’t offer that much hope, but sometimes Grey’s stresses us out before gifting us a miracle.
