Pale Man Funko Pop! Image: BoxLunch

Horror – Pale Man (Pan’s Labyrinth)

Pan’s Labyrinth doesn’t exclusively fall in the horror genre; however, we all know the Pale Man and the entire dinner table scene is definitely horrifying. After all, in Guillermo del Toro notes in his book, Cabinet of Curiosities, that the creature is a child-eating demon, and monstrous renditions of manta rays and (obviously) demons inspired the creature.

From the demon’s memorable scene in Pan’s Labyrinth, it’s clear his terrifying cameo represents the film (apart from the tragic ending, which we’re still not over, by the way). Admittedly, Funko somehow makes the Pale Man seem cute and harmless, and it almost makes us forget the nightmares we had after watching Pan’s Labyrinth for the first time. (Sorry, mom, you were right: we were too young to see the movie.)

The Pale Man is bold for a first Funko, but that shouldn’t deter you from decorating your living room with this new statement collectible.

Price: $10.90

Now that Warner Animation Group is allegedly concocting a Funko flick, according to SuperBroMovies writer Daniel Richtman, we wonder if they’ll make Funko Pop!s of all the Funkos in the movie. Sure, Funko-ception might not be on the marketing department’s to-do list, but we’re glad to see another toy-adjacent movie join the future film lineup.

Our collectible guide to your multiple fandoms helps resolve some of your indecisive and fandom-based dilemmas, but you still need to worry about two critical decisions: where to put your Funko and if you’ll keep it in its box, take it out, or only unbox it on a special occasion (like your collectible’s birthday). Regardless, we can’t wait to see which Funko Pop! started your collection.
