Dua Lipa

This dress probably works best in comparison to Lady Gaga’s at the top. In a lot of ways, Dua Lipa is wearing the somewhat more standard version of it, down to the train instead of the explosion of waves down her side.

But there’s also more visually pleasing interest in this version, thanks to the different tones of grays breaking up all of the silver, including in the bodice and in the train. We have to applaud her choice to have a few pops of gold on her nails instead of going with an all-coordinated look as well. It all works together without clashing.

Ella Mai

Do you know what this is?

This is a lot of dress.

But even as we mourn her ability to stand up straight for the next few days (because again, a lot of dress), there’s something stunning about this one on first glance. The color is perfectly set to contrast the red carpet, and it looks lovely on her.

We might quibble a bit about the detailing around the bust and back, because it kind of looks like a fungus up there (but fine at the hem), but this is a lovely gown. She clearly got the secret memo about wearing something that went all out in terms of volume.

(There was probably no secret memo.)
