Saturday Night Live season 44 episode 12 live stream: Watch online

This week on Saturday Night Live, singer Halsey will be both the host and the musical guest. The double duty honor is a first this season.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a celebrity be both the musical guest and the host, but finally, we’re getting right back to it. After a small week’s break for the Saturday Night Live crew, they’re getting right back to it with singer Halsey.

And while not all singers are typically actors, Halsey actually does have a few acting credits under her belt. In 2018, she voiced Wonder Woman in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies and had a cameo as herself in A Star Is Born. Or rather, shall we called it: Oscar-nominated film A Star Is Born. Yep, that’s right. Even with an Oscar-worthy cameo, Halsey is already proving she’s a double threat and totally worthy of being on the SNL stage this weekend.

In a promo, we got a preview of Halsey’s acting chops for a quick minute, which you can watch below. In the clip, we’re not only seeing double with Halseys as both the musical guest and host, but we’re seeing triple, quadruple, and so on. Call the special effects what you will, but the world could do for a whole lot of Halsey.

As far as cold open and Weekend Update predictions go, we definitely have to see something about the State of the Union address. Particularly, I’d love it if they could highlight that viral moment of Nancy Pelosi clapping back at Trump that took the internet by storm.

They’ve also got some more pop culture and sports moments to make fun of, like Super Bowl LIII. Not that I’d personally like to relive Adam Levine taking off his shirt during the halftime performance, but it’s certainly something to make fun of. That, or just the ridiculous amount of times Tom Brady has won a Super Bowl at this point.
