Gina Linetti may be leaving the Nine-Nine for bigger and better things but that doesn’t mean that Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn’t going to continue on.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the kind of show that surprises you with the amount of heart it can have. And now that Gina Linetti is leaving the Nine-Nine, who knows how we’re going to fair.

Last week’s episode saw Gina and Jake going to their high school reunion and, even though Jake learned that Gina had lied to him for years, he knew that she always had his back.

So, in return, Jake told Gina to follow her heart and do what she needed to do to be her best. Even if that means that Gina is going to be leaving the Nine-Nine. It looks we’re gonna need some tissues this week.

Gina has been a part of the Nine-Nine from the beginning, Jake’s childhood friend who is, essentially, like his sister. She’s been Holt’s assistant for years and seeing her gone is going to take some adjusting to.

Who is Boyle going to make weird references to their past relationship while calling her his sister too? Rosa and Amy always went to Gina when they needed help, Gina got to use her torch when she was trapped in a Die Hard situation with Boyle and Jake. It’s just not going to be the same kind of show we’re used to.

That being said, it is still Brooklyn Nine-Nine and even with Gina gone, there will still be enough hijinx and cases for us to fall in love with. Plus, Jake and Amy just got married. So we have that relationship to look forward to and so much more.
