The big news for “Chapter Forty-Six: The Red Dahlia” is not that Hiram is laid up in the hospital with a gunshot wound. No way. It’s the fact that his in-real-life-wife, Kelly Ripa is probably the culprit. Let’s all pause just for a second for Ripa-love.

She is all I’m here for this week. Forget Archie as Red Dahlia nonsense.

In other, less interesting news, it’s looking like Archie has some “demons” and Betty has stumbled upon yet another “perfect murder.” Yeah. Yeah. Just get to the Ripa/Hermione showdown. This is the Housewives confrontation I need in my life. Bravo couldn’t have done it better.

I’m loving this whole FP-as-sheriff scheme. An alliance between Hermione and FP has the potential to yield lots of adult-centered intrigue this show often lacks. Give me the parents! And far less Archie and Veronica ennui, please and thank you.

This trailer shows Archie wielding a gun over Hiram’s hospital bed. Again, Riverdale, crack down on those gun laws, already. But I don’t think anyone is expecting him to actually do anything about it. Now that he’s back to his red hair, we can probably expect the same ol’ impotence we’ve seen all along.

Let’s get on with the Serpents as heroes, and see where the chips may fall.
