Felicity and Ben – Felicity

What you need to know: Felicity, in a pre-stalking laws move, moves across the country to New York to be close to her high school crush. Incidentally, her crush, Ben, doesn’t really have those same big feelings, and Felicity spends the first year or so skulking around trying to get him to notice her in that way.

While Ben is trying to figure out his feelings for Felicity, she befriends (and eventually dates) another guy, Noel. This certainly gets his attention, and ultimately, it created one of the most famous love triangles in TV history.

Why we ‘ship them so hard: I would really like to say it’s because they are the perfect couple (like I’ve said about some of the other couples on this list) or that their love connection is just so profound, but I can’t. Ben is actually kind of a jerk to Felicity, and he isn’t considerate of her feelings in any real way, either platonically or romantically.

Much like Carrie and Big, this relationship represents an archetypical relationship in which the woman is attracted to a man who doesn’t really respect her. While Felicity is reading Ben’s aloofness and standoffishness as his being “troubled and broody,” he’s really just not that interested in her feelings. She ultimately picks him in the end, but it’s arguable whether she made the right decision or not.

How to watch it all unfold: You can watch Felicity on ABC’s website, but I warn you. Once you see how Felicity chases Ben because he’s unavailable, you won’t ever be able to unsee it.
