Chuck and Blair – Gossip Girl

What you need to know: Chuck starts out as a class A jerk. Worse than a jerk. In fact, he’s an actual misogynist who is never kind to women, and he has some serious issues with consent. However, that’s until Blair comes along and isn’t having any of his toxic masculinity nonsense.

The two pretty much always have latent feelings for each other, but don’t relent until a few seasons in. Once they become a couple, they love each other so much that they consistently and brutally hurt the other’s feelings with their selfishness, narcissism, and constant scheming. You know what they say about the ones you love.

Why we ‘ship them so hard: It seems like it would be hard to get folks to pull for two destructive rich people to find their happily ever after. But that is exactly what is so special about Blair and Chuck. Separately, they are absolutely deplorable, garbage humans, but when you put them together, you have this sweet kind of love story.

It’s the kind of story in which you can identify how utterly miserable these two are without each other, and so you just want them together so things can right themselves. Blair and Chuck not being together upsets the natural order.

How you can watch it all unfold: You head straight to HBO Max and watch all those seasons and tell me I’m wrong about these two, if you want to. But I surmise you won’t, because I’m not.
