The last thing you want to do is break the bank when trying to keep your beauty routine in check. And luckily, there are actually quite a number of quality face masks that are rather inexpensive, such as this Charcoal and Black Sugar Mud Mask from Sally Beauty Supply.

I love a good mud mask, as they are great for enriching the skin with nutrients and minerals. Plus, these masks are usually quite effective in terms of tightening, removing excess oils and impurities, and even being used as a spot treatment when dealing with pimples and blackheads.

For this particular mask, the effect is eliminating oily skin without drying it out. And that’s not all, as this mask is also beneficial in nourishing the skin for a smoother, more hydrated result.

While the directions say to leave the mud mask on until it dries, which should take about 10 minutes, every time I have used this mask it has actually taken a bit longer, usually 15 minutes. Once the mask has dried, you wash the skin with warm water and pat dry.

With this mask, you can use it on both the face and the neck area, and while this mask can be applied with your fingers, we recommend using a brush designed for masks (yes these are a thing), as it will make clean up and application much easier.

They recommend that you use this mask twice a week for best results. And while I don’t, I still find this mask very effective, especially when it comes to leaving my skin feeling smoother.
