Saturday Night Live season 44 episode 10 live stream: Watch online
By Mia Johnson
Saturday Night Live returns from its mid-season break this week, bringing Rachel Brosnahan as the host and Greta Van Fleet as the musical guest with them. Here’s how to watch.
We’re giving another warm “welcome back” to Saturday Night Live this week, which is returning after a hearty winter break. And they aren’t just coming back with any old person as the host for the first show of 2019, they’ve got Emmy and Golden Globe winner Rachel Brosnahan.
Brosnahan had an excellent start to 2019 earlier this month when she snagged her second Golden Globe for her role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. And with all that talent, hopefully, it means SNL will have one good show on its hands Saturday night. Although, while Brosnahan already has a flair for comedy as a stand-up comedian in her show, that’s all scripted. So will she have what it takes to pull off the whole comedy thing on live TV? We’re pretty sure she can.
In a promo for this week’s episode, we already got a taste for how funny Brosnahan can be in a digital short. In the clip below, she’s made her way to the 30 Rock building in a film-noir style sketch. Something’s not quite right in the SNL world, and Brosnahan is on the case.
Of course, we’re also always looking forward to seeing how Saturday Night Live will open its show, because the news cycle is always a playground these days. We think a naturally hilarious cold open would feature Donald Trump and his grand meal with the Clemson football team.
If you don’t recall, the team paid a visit to the White House after winning a national college championship. The kicker was that the president lined up the most luxurious buffet of McDonald’s foods for him and the athletes to dine on. Because that’s how classy Trump is.
There’s plenty of other political events that have happened for SNL can pick on, ranging from not too bad (like Trump misspelling pretty much everything on Twitter) to completely terrible (like the government shutdown continuing on for a record number of days). Some bits can be saved for Weekend Update, but there’s some easy comedy gold in the Clemson/White House situation for the cold open.
Saturday Night Live has a lot of catching up to do, and so do we. Here’s how you can watch what SNL makes fun of this week:
