Outlander season 4 episode 10 live stream: Watch online
Roger’s luck goes from bad to worse, Claire helps a pregnant Brianna with a difficult decision and Jamie is forced to come clean.
Another episode of Outlander, another Epic Journey that must be made. This time, Sassenachs, it’s Roger going through a torturous odyssey and making wildly romantic declarations about what he’ll do once he gets his life back. “I’m going to escape,” he promises in the teaser for “The Deep Heart’s Core.” “I’m going to get back to my wife.”
Wherever Young Ian deposited Roger after the events of “The Birds & the Bees” — aka after Jamie beat him within an inch of his life because Lizzie incorrectly identified Roger as Bree’s rapist — the local Cherokee tribe apparently picked him right up and took him prisoner.
If Roger manages to reunite with Bree before the end of “The Deep Heart’s Core,” he’ll just be coming back to more chaos. Here’s the episode synopsis, courtesy of Starz:
"The tension within the family escalates when the secrets that Jamie and Claire have been keeping from one another are finally revealed and they realize that their actions have led to disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Roger finds himself at the mercy of his Native American captors."
On top of it all, Claire and Jamie are headed for a major fight. (Claire’s “Jamie, what have you done?” in the promo is possibly the most terrifying moment of the show so far.) Jamie, you’ll recall, went all vigilante on Roger without consulting either his wife or daughter — and without telling them afterward. Yeah, so he’s in deep trouble.
As for Bree herself, she’s pregnant, unsure who the father is and is considering a medical abortion, something Claire has offered to help her with. But Brianna is dithering and time is running out. “I know this is an impossible decision,” Claire tells her. “It would have to be soon, while the fetus is still small.”
Bree deserves to have some happiness, and Outlander hasn’t really explored abortion yet, so I’m pulling for her to not go through with the pregnancy. But I have a feeling that history will repeat itself and Roger, like Frank before him, will commit himself to raising a child who is not biologically his.
