Christmas Day hours: Is McDonald’s open on Christmas Day?
Not every holiday meal is perfect. Sometimes, a quick stop at McDonald’s is what you need. Are the restaurants open on Christmas Day?
It happens to the best of cooks. Sometimes your holiday ham turns out a little dry. A turkey is a gamble pretty much any time of year. And even more non-expected holiday meats can burn or otherwise turn out bad. Maybe you’re just not feeling well or just really want some fries. Whatever it is, you want some McDonald’s, and you’d like it on Christmas Day.
The problem is that you might be disappointed. According to TripSavvy, although you’ll be able to get a Big Mac on Christmas Eve, you probably won’t be so lucky on Christmas Day. Indeed, McDonald’s own website backs that up, stating that you’ll only be able to visit “a handful of restaurants” on Christmas.
In other words, it’s a local and lucky thing, which means that your best friend is going to be anything that lets you look at a nearby store’s hours, from the app to just the official website. If it is open, you’ll be able to see that and plan your trip; we’d recommend going earlier rather than later, because the odds are good that even if a location is open, it won’t be open particularly late.
All the same, though, you can try on Christmas Eve, and you’re more likely to get what you’re looking for then. In the meantime, if you do have a holiday food mishap on Christmas Day, maybe stock up at a grocery store ahead of time so that you’ve got something to eat should something go awry at either a party you’re attending or you’re hosting.
But, of course, things should pick right back up on the day after Christmas, since that’s not technically a holiday. If you’re out shopping (or back to work) on that Wednesday, then you’re set then.
