When it comes to knowing just what to wear to a more somber occasion, Meghan Markle knows exactly what she is doing. And back in April, before her wedding with Prince Harry, the couple attended the 25th Anniversary Memorial Service for Stephen Lawrence. For that service, the future duchess chose an outfit that was definitely more on the neutral to somber side. (Although there were some who complained about the fact that the dress was sleeveless and had a V-neck.)
The outfit in question is a black (although it does seem to have hints of white to it for added depth), belted dress from Hugo Boss that was actually not available online at the time she wore it. (We know. We looked). And while her hair was up in her signature messy bun with loose tendrils at the front, as Elle magazine pointed out, she complemented the dress with a pair of nude heels and a matching clutch for a more polished finish.
Overall, it was a very understated look that was actually quite lovely, even in its simplicity. We love the way the dress had a flow to it, while still looking very polished and appropriate for the service they were attending.
