LONDON, ENGLAND – APRIL 25: Britain’s Prince Harry and his US fiancee Meghan Markle attend an Anzac Day dawn service at Hyde Park Corner on April 25, 2018 in London, England. Anzac Day commemorates Australian and New Zealand casualties and veterans of conflicts and marks the anniversary of the landings in the Dardanelles on April 25, 1915 that would signal the start of the Gallipoli Campaign during the First World War. When it comes to formal occasions with the royal family, Meghan Markle picked things up rather quickly in terms of appropriate attire. At the Anzac Day commemorations back in April, the then-future Duchess of Sussex rocked multiple looks on the day, but we admit to being partial to this one in particular.

In this case, the duchess wore a Matthew Williamson cream-colored, double-breasted coat that was said to be bespoke. Along with the coat, she also wore a black midi-dress underneath that featured long sleeves.

In accordance with the more somber nature of the day and her overall attire, Meghan Markle accessorized the look with a velvet clutch by Gucci and suede heels by Sarah Flint. And while her hair was down in loose tresses, the duchess wore a black wide-brim hat as part of her ensemble as well.

Even her makeup was subdued (although the duchess tends to air on the side of neutrals and natural beauty in general). Markle stuck with a nude lip gloss, blush, and eyeliner for the occasion.

Overall, this was a look that was polished and refined, with a hint of somberness due to the commemoration she and Prince Harry were attending.
