In her first official royal appearance after her wedding to Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex showed that she really was planning to take some style inspiration from her new sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge. And most of that stems from the dress she wore to the 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration for the Prince of Wales.
For the dress the duchess wore, she opted for a brand she had never donned before, but happens to be a favorite of Kate Middleton’s, Goat. Meghan Markle went with a dusty pink dress with silk chiffon sleeves and décolletage area, according to the London Evening Standard. The dress, which is called the Flavia, is described as being all about femininity and fluidity, and sits just below the knee.
And she paired the dress with a Philip Treacy hat in a matching shade of dusty pink, while also carrying a clutch in light pink (although not a perfect match to the hat or dress), for a look that was complete and well put together. Even her nude heels and tights were a match for the outfit, making for a look that was elegant and royal, if a bit monotone. And with her hair pulled up into a refined bun, the newly minted Duchess made a true style statement.
