Sometimes, you just need some sort of combination of caffeine and sugar to get through holidays, but will Starbucks be there for you on Christmas Eve?
There are times when a trip to Starbucks is, for some reason, inappropriate. Frankly, we don’t think a need for coffee (or something sweet) is necessarily a bad idea on Christmas Eve. And although we’d hope that things actually close down on holidays, Delish reports that Starbucks will open up on Christmas Eve, citing a statement from the company. The article notes that different stores will have different hours, so, in the interest of helping you out, we’ve done some sampling in a few major cities.
For example, one of the Starbucks stores in the Loop of Chicago will open up at 7:30 a.m. Central time, but close quite early at 4 p.m. One a few blocks away has an even earlier closing time of 2:30 p.m., but it also opens slightly earlier at 6:00 a.m. Over in Los Angeles, however, a store will be open until 9:00 p.m. that day. Heading into Brooklyn, Christmas Eve hours will run from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; up in Greenwich Village in New York City, you can get your coffee until 10:00 p.m.
Even suburban and smaller city Starbucks stores will be open; a Natick, Massachusetts store will open its doors at 5:30 a.m., but closes at 6:30 p.m. In Wichita, Kansas, one store will close at 6:00 p.m. local time.
In other words, don’t expect to be able to show up after a party at a Starbucks hoping to get something to relax. It’s much more likely that you’ll be able to grab a breakfast coffee to start your day rather than an evening drink or even a mid-afternoon one, depending on which store you favor visiting. Delish notes that Starbucks wants you to double check hours; we’re going to re-up that recommendation, and then add that even though you might be completely craving coffee, please be patient with baristas.
