Miracle on 34th Street invites our fav food miracle: Healthy ice cream!

If you’ve heard about Miracle on 34th Street and thought it’s a movie just for kids or that it sounds outdated, Christmas Day alone is the perfect time to appreciate the wonders of this film:

A very young, lovely Natalie Wood plays the little girl who at first doesn’t believe in Santa Claus. Only 8-years-old at the time Miracle on 34th Street was filmed, Wood really did believe in Santa Claus, reports Mental Floss.

Not only did Natalie think that actor Edmund Gwenn was Santa, but he made his performance as the beaming man with the beard even more realistic by playing Santa Claus in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade that year, which was filmed.

The magical miracles captured in the movie felt real to the performers as well, with actress Maureen O’Hara sharing that the adult stars would enjoy the sights of Fifth Avenue stores beautifully decorated for the holiday each evening after filming.

“I got such a big kick out of seeing the expressions of window dressers when they saw Edmund peering in at them—I knew then that he was going to make a big splash as Santa Claus … Everyone felt the magic on the set and we all knew we were creating something special,” recalled O’Hara.

Our favorite food miracle is the perfect treat to accompany this film: Healthy ice cream! Whether you like Halo Top (hello, guilt-free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream), Enlightened ice cream (why hi there, high protein White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha goodness), or Arctic Zero (we’re cooing over Cookies & Cream), the brave new world of ice creams that are low-calorie is the Christmas miracle we need!
