18. Frosty the Snowman

We adore the animated Frosty the Snowman from 1969. And who wouldn’t love a snowman brought to life by the power of holiday magic? And not just that, but his very first words are “Happy Birthday!” How fun, cheery, and downright amazing is that?

How can you not love a character whose very first words are something as innocent and beautiful as “Happy Birthday”? And even though they are not Christmas or holiday greetings, it’s still a fun way to introduce himself, especially since it is his birthday in many ways. In fact, we love Frosty because of how cheerful he really is.

Frosty is a magical being, created thanks to a discarded top hat and the joy of children who adore their new friend. He is musical and cheerful, and basically all the things we want out of a festive, animated character. And even when the worst happens and the man whose hat Frosty is wearing tries to get it back, our friendly neighborhood snowman and his friend Julie hop a train to go to where else but the North Pole.

Honestly, Frosty the Snowman is one of our favorite cheerful holiday characters for so many reasons. And his joyful nature is definitely at the top of the list.
