Prepare in advance

According to Good Housekeeping, one thing that even Kate Middleton does is prepare for her dinner parties in advance. This includes getting the tables set a day prior to the actual party, as well as decorating and even doing some of the cooking (basically whatever you can cook early).  You may even want to pick out an outfit beforehand, so you don’t have to waste time deciding what to wear on the night of the dinner.

Not only will this allow you to figure out if you are missing anything, but it does take some of the stress off of the actual day of the dinner.

The earlier you can prepare, the less chance you have of running into a royally stressful disaster the day of. Remember: planning something royal must be done properly and perfectly. So you’ll definitely want to make sure everything runs smoothly.
