Arrowverse Elseworlds crossover live stream: Watch online

This year’s Arrowverse crossover sends Barry and Oliver to Gotham. Here’s all the information on how to watch the bonkers-sounding “Elseworlds” online.

Since “Flash vs. Arrow” aired in 2014, the Arrowverse crossover, which brings together various series in The CW’s DC superhero universe, has become an annual treat. For viewers, it provides an opportunity to see characters from, say, Arrow and Supergirl interact with each other. For the shows, it’s a chance to experiment with concepts too ambitious or outlandish to be incorporated into their regular continuity.

Take the 2018 edition. Not only does “Elseworlds” unite Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash (plus, a cameo from Legends of Tomorrow), but it will also introduce Gotham after years of teases and references. While a Batman appearance remains wishful thinking, we know that Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, and Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane feature prominently, which is more than enough reason for anticipation.

It could be glorious. It could be disastrous. Either way, it’ll be something to remember.

“Elseworlds” will unfold over the course of three nights, starting with an episode of The Flash on Sunday, followed by Arrow on Monday, and ending with a Tuesday Supergirl. Read below for the official plot synopsis of “Part 1”:

"EPIC ELSEWORLDS CROSSOVER KICKS OFF TONIGHT — When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (guest star Stephen Amell) wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other, the two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when they present their case to Team Flash and the gang doesn’t believe them. Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl’s (guest star Melissa Benoist) help and travel to Smallville on Earth-38 where they end up meeting Kara’s cousin, Clark Kent (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch)."

As the Entertainment Weekly article linked above explains, this year’s crossover will center on the central “trinity” of Oliver, Barry, and Kara. It’s a shame for Legends of Tomorrow to miss out (who didn’t have their fingers crossed for a reunion between Oliver and Constantine?), and we enjoyed seeing supporting characters like Felicity and Iris get their own storylines during “Crisis on Earth-X.” But a trinity-centric crossover has been a long time coming. Even with the addition of Gotham, “Elseworlds” should make for a more focused narrative a la “Flash vs. Arrow.”

Besides, after the tragedy and Nazis of “Crisis on Earth-X,” we can hardly object to something lighter and wackier, like Oliver and Barry spontaneously switching bodies. This should be a nice break from ongoing seasons of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, which, unlike Legends, have been fairly dark.

“Elseworlds, Part 1” is directed by Kevin Tancharoen from a script by Eric Wallace and Sam Chalsen.
