Mickey’s Christmas Carol
Notable Cast: Alan Young
What it’s about: Mickey’s Christmas Carol is a retelling of that classic story by Charles Dickens. But, it’s made a little more fun and family friendly by being in this animated form with Mickey and the gang playing the characters from the story. Of course, Scrooge McDuck plays Ebenezer Scrooge himself, which is just perfect. This short movie is an enjoyable remake of that traditional story, and you’ll enjoy watching it and being reminded of the importance of giving and sharing, during the holidays and all year round.
One interesting fact about this film is that it was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon to be released in theaters in over 30 years when it was put out in 1983.
Why you should watch it for the holidays: We have another Mickey movie on the list because there are many adorable Mickey cartoons based around the holiday season, so it was hard to pick just one. Another Mickey cartoon that you can watch (which we feature later on this list), is Snowed In at the House of Mouse. So, if you want to watch all of the Mickey holiday specials, you can check that one, too.
Other than Scrooge, you’ll also see many other familiar faces such as Mickey Mouse who is representing Bob Cratchit in the film as well as Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck who are used for some of the smaller parts.
If you’re looking for something that reminds you of the importance of not being greedy and sharing what you have with others around you, you’re going to love this adorable retelling of A Christmas Carol.
