Legends of Tomorrow season 4 episode 7 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
Another magical creature is on the loose as the Legends grapple with personal issues. Here’s how you can watch Legends of Tomorrow this week.
For the most part, Legends of Tomorrow has stuck to a formula during season 4. Each episode involves the team tracking down and capturing a fugitive in a different historical time period. By splitting up into pairs, they use the mission to work through internal or interpersonal conflicts, with one character getting the central arc (in “Dancing Queen,” for example, it was Ray, while “Tagumo Attacks!!!” belonged to Rory). A C-plot involves more mundane hijinks, usually at the Time Bureau.
Last week’s episode ever so slightly changed the formula by bringing Nate and his father Hank along. With Hank pressuring them to present an image of competence and cooperation, the team stayed together this time, aside from a brief detour, and everyone else mainly served to support Nate’s story. “Tender Is the Nate” was peak Legends, weaving between goofiness and sincerity with an ease that would make Ernest Hemingway proud. Also, it involved a musical number and a toast.
This week looks more like business as usual. Below, you can read the official synopsis for the episode, titled “Hell No, Dolly!”:
"RIPPLE EFFECT — With Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Ava (Jes Macallan) at odds, Sara (Caity Lotz) tries to come up with a way for them to get along, but all is put on hold when a new magical creature attacks the Legends. Constantine (Matt Ryan) is forced to confront his tragic past but it could have devastating consequences for the rest of the team. Meanwhile, Mona (Ramona Young) has a crush on someone she works with and gets some advice from Nate (Nick Zano)."
As the episode trailer and promotional images indicate, the latest magical fugitive is a sentient – and, naturally, evil – doll. It’s one of the sillier creatures the Legends have encountered so far (the rainbow-spewing unicorn will be hard to top), but no doubt it will turn out to have surprising emotional and thematic resonance.
In terms of the overarching narrative, though, Constantine’s storyline is likely more crucial. Who is haunting our favorite Irish demon hunter? The CW Seed’s animated series Constantine: City of Demons followed him on a quest to save the soul of a woman named Trish, but it isn’t clear if Legends of Tomorrow will maintain that continuity. Either way, Constantine’s backstory should provide the key to the plot of the season going forward.
April Mullen directs from a script by Grainne Godfree and Morgan Faust.
