A Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer could come soon, but at Avengers 4’s expense

Rumors say Sony might be releasing a Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer soon, but how can they perfectly market a movie with Avengers 4 in the way?

This week is shaping up to be pretty big for Marvel fans. On Monday, an official trailer for Captain Marvel will be airing during Monday night football. And biggest Marvel insiders, including DanielRPK, have predicted that a trailer for Avengers 4 will likely arrive on Wednesday (finally). On top of that, the Russo brothers are headed to the Game Awards on Thursday and might reveal more information about the upcoming Avengers video game.

Now, as the current rumor mill goes, a teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home might also be on the way. The movie is set to come out July 5, 2019, leaving us seven months to go before its release.

According to DanielRPK, that trailer could be coming sooner than we know it. But just how soon? As soon as the end of next week soon.

At any other time, getting a trailer for Far From Home would be perfect. But we have to remember, Spider-Man: Far From Home happens after Avengers 4, and we haven’t even seen that movie yet.

We’ve already discussed this before when Sony released the key art for Far From Home back in August. Fans grew concerned that Sony would be breaking the illusion about Infinity War (that our heroes were snapped away and are doomed never to return again).

Now, it seems the stakes are even higher for breaking this illusion because we’ll see actual footage of the new movie. Most movie-goers already know that the upcoming Marvel sequels mean these heroes will be coming back. But for some, it’s still breaking a huge wall of sorts to already confirm that Spider-Man will be alive before we even see how he survives.

And so, Sony has a huge issue on their hands if they want to try to get the trailer to be as spoiler-free as possible. We don’t doubt Sony doesn’t have the ability to market this movie without spoilers, but it just means the trailer will have to leave out some of the most important parts of the movie.

Although, it’s also possible that the movie won’t dwell too much on the past either way. (Will Peter even remember being snapped away by Thanos, or will it all have been a dream?)

When Sony releases the Far From Home trailer, we’ll still be looking forward to seeing it. Besides, Spidey deserves to have his own time in the spotlight aside from the Avengers. If anything, recovering from the whole Thanos fiasco might only be a drop in the bucket that is the Far From Home plot.
