Doctor Who season 11 episode 9 live stream: Watch online

The brand-new season of Doctor Who continues this Sunday. Here’s everything you need to know to watch “It Takes You Away” online and not miss a minute.

The penultimate episode of Doctor Who season 11 is here, and though it feels as though it should be impossible, we’re almost at the end of our first journey with the Thirteenth Doctor. But, thankfully it’s not over yet!

This week, Team TARDIS returns to present day Earth (Norway, actually) where they become involved in a mystery.

The official synopsis tells us it’s a story of a mysterious cottage, a girl who needs help and – what else – a monster that lurks in the woods.

"On the edge of a Norwegian fjord in the present day, the Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz discover a boarded-up cottage and a girl named Hanne in need of their help. What has happened here? What monster lurks in the woods around the cottage – and beyond?"

If the trailer is anything to go by, it looks as though “It Takes You Away” is set to be a real old-fashioned scary story again, though it’s hard to guess at what that thing is that the Doctor appears to pass through in the end.

Portal? Mirror? Random alien technology? Who can say? (Not us, of course, because as is part for the course for the modern day episodes that take place in season 11, we have no idea what’s going on.)

But one we probably should expect? That nothing is what it seems. That’s been kind of a theme this season – as creatures we’ve assumed to be monsters haven’t actually been that malevolent and supposed friends have turned out to have ulterior motives.

So, it should be fun to find out what’s actually going on.
