Crazy Ex-Girlfriend preview: Rebecca’s mother is back

Missed Crazy Ex-Girlfriend last week? So did we. But this week, the show is back, we’re seeing Naomi Bunch once more, and that’s always a fun time.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend took Thanksgiving off and, while we missed the show, it is back this week and ready to bring Rebecca and her mother back together. We know that a lot of Rebecca’s issues come from Naomi, so with all the change that Rebecca has been going through, things could get interesting.

Will Naomi approve of Rebecca’s pretzel shop? Or is she going to be…well, Naomi about it? Probably the latter, but, as we know from last time the two were together, things are still a little off between them.

Last episode, we saw Rebecca applying what she’s learned. Darryl told her about his feelings; she understood where he was coming from and adjusted, changing how she typically acts to become a more understanding friend. While this is something friends should generally do, it’s still a big deal for Rebecca. She used to be extremely selfish in her friendships, so her relationships weren’t exactly healthy for her or for everyone else. But with Darryl, it’s becoming clear that she is trying to make positive changes in her life.

That being said, the resurfacing of her mother might not be the best thing for Rebecca. A lot of her problems stem from her relationship with Naomi, and so this visit may be a set back to the progress that she has been making with her therapy and her own discoveries. Rebecca is telling people no, helping those around her, and growing. Let’s hope that continues with Naomi showing up again in her life.

Hopefully, this week brings a nice wrap up to Naomi and Rebecca’s relationship. As we get closer and closer to the end of the show, their relationship does need some sort of closure after appearing throughout and influencing the show. Having the two finally come to an understanding and not continually fight would be a wonderful end to Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
