Legends of Tomorrow season 4 episode 6 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
Hank Heywood takes a trip back in time on this week’s Legends of Tomorrow. Read below for information on how to watch the episode.
Honestly, it could have been worse. That was my reaction to the storyline in last week’s Legends of Tomorrow in which Nate’s father invited Ava to join the Heywood family for Thanksgiving dinner. Sure, the turkey took six hours to cook, and Nate, Ava, and Hank had to leave to clean up Time Bureau shenanigans. But at least they managed to minimize the time spent making small talk with inebriated relatives.
Dinner with the family should be a walk in the park compared to what this week’s episode has in store. To be specific, Hank Heywood is coming aboard the Waverider. Although he’s too late for the 1980s-set adventure (that was two weeks ago, in “Wet Hot American Bummer”), we expect – nay, demand – multiple Back to the Future references.
Instead, the episode, titled “Tender Is the Nate,” takes the Legends to the Années folles, or the French Roaring Twenties. During the decade, Paris was flooded with artistic influences from the United States, as American authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway frequented Montparnasse cafés and jazz dominated nightclubs.
You can read the full synopsis, courtesy of The CW:
"When Hank Heywood (guest star Tom Wilson) confronts Ava (Jes Macallan) about the spending habits of the Legends, Nate (Nick Zano) steps in to try and smooth things over by inviting Hank on to the Waverider. The Legends then show Hank what they do by visiting 1920s Paris, trying to capture the newest Fugitive. Meanwhile, Mona (Ramona Young) is trying to make a good impression with Ava, but her over eagerness gets her and Ava stuck in a cell instead."
Season 4 is really committed to delving into the financial logistics of the Time Bureau, and it’s great. We already know the Legends are technically working for free, so pay isn’t the issue. Does Gideon create the currency they use on their adventures like their costumes and food?
Even more exciting is the fact that Nate will be joining the team for the first time this season. His historical expertise has been missed almost as much as his friendship with Ray. This also means he will probably meet Charlie. How will he react to encountering an Amaya lookalike? How will he react to the team having kept her presence a secret?
Hank’s presence likely won’t help him cope with the revelation. Although the Heywoods seem to be getting along at the moment, the end of “Tagumo Attacks!!!” suggests choppy waters ahead for their relationship. Whatever Project Hades is, it’s shady.
Dean Choe directs from a script by Phil Klemmer and Matthew Maala.
