A Doctor Who fan with cystic fibrosis got the surprise of a lifetime when the Thirteenth Doctor gave her a visit.

Each year, the BBC hosts their annual “Children in Need” telethon event that helps children by raising money for a variety of causes. The telethon aired last Friday, and during it, the BBC surprised one young fan who loves Doctor Who.

Anna, a nine-year-old girl with cystic fibrosis, got the surprise of a lifetime when she was surprised by none other than Jodie Whittaker. Anna had been told that she was going to be part of a documentary about fans of Doctor Who, but things just kept getting better for her as she was taken to the studio where the show is filmed and given a Time Lord costume of her own.

Next, she got to meet actors from the show who play various Doctor’s companions. And, to top it all off, she got to meet Jodie Whittaker while on the set.

You can watch the entire video here. Keep in mind, it’s very adorable, and tears are very likely.

When Anna finally got to meet Whittaker, she was excited that the two were Doctor twins. “It made me happy that I look like the Doctor. Twinsies,” she shared. How adorable!

The video also touches on what life is like for a child like Anna who lives with cystic fibrosis and how Doctor Who is something that brings her family together. We also see Whittaker speaking to Anna about the importance of being the first female Doctor.

Anna shares in the video that Jodie’s Thirteenth Doctor is “so much better than the boy doctors.” (Anna, we’ll high five you on that one!)

We can imagine Anna will never forget this moment, and neither will Whittaker. These two easily inspire each other, as well as us.
