The Good Place is on the way to find a beacon for humanity. A guiding light to show people how to live their most ethical life. Someone who can show them the ways of the afterlife.
We’re pretty sure that’s going to be Doug Forcett, the only person to guess close enough to the actual afterlife. I mean, who else is in rural Canada? Unless we’re somehow getting an X-Men crossover and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine wants to pop up…
Anyway, here’s the official synopsis for this week’s episode, in case you missed it:
"Michael and Janet take an important journey. Eleanor ponders whether she should share a secret."
Eleanor’s been in this conundrum before — should she tell Chidi the truth about their relationship in the afterlife(s)? Or does not telling him keep him from being hurt? One has to think The Good Place will give us something a little different for this side plot… since we’ve already been through it.
But the main focus: Who’s in rural Canada? Who can be a beacon for humanity? Eleanor suggests Rihanna, but I’m not surprised she didn’t say Beyoncé, since she is 104% perfect.
It’s got to be Doug Forcett, but how will he be able to lead humanity into gathering the most points? Has he lived a virtuous and ethical life since his crazy mushroom trip? Or did he forget it all the next day?
Honestly, we never really heard much about what he got right–just that he guessed the closest. Maybe he didn’t hit on the whole point system (but that seems like a biggie).
We’ll just have to wait and find out!
