Legends of Tomorrow season 4 episode 4 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
Halloween and summer collide in the latest Legends of Tomorrow episode. Culturess has all the information you need on how to watch.
Season 4 of Legends of Tomorrow just keeps getting better. Last week’s episode, “Dancing Queen,” combined the goofiness of the season premiere and the emotion of “Witch Hunt” with a surprising burst of tension as Ray’s compassion clashed with the team’s mission of capturing magical fugitives. Even at his most puckish (or punk-ish), Ray can’t help but cling to his moral compass.
“Dancing Queen” also revealed Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ new role on the show. Mischievous and perpetually angry, Charlie could hardly be more different from the righteous, perpetually composed Amaya. It remains to be seen how she fits into the team, but we look forward to seeing Richardson-Sellers show off her range (and her real accent) as much as we worry how Nate will react when he finds out a lookalike of his former lover is hanging out on the Waverider.
The synopsis for this week’s episode, titled “Wet Hot American Bummer” after the cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer, suggests that Legends of Tomorrow is taking a break from the Time Bureau. You can read it below, courtesy of The CW:
"MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME — When the Legends discover that kids at a summer camp have disappeared, Sara, Ava, Ray and Constantine find themselves as the new camp counselors. At camp, Ava struggles to get along with the kids, but Constantine whips up a potion that helps Sara and Ava bond with the children. Luckily, the team finds clues to the whereabouts of the missing kids, but the battle to save them leaves one member in bad shape. Meanwhile, Rory and Zari are tasked with watching the fugitive and Rory finds a kindship with their “prisoner.”"
Judging by the trailer, “Wet Hot American Bummer” will evoke ‘80s teen slashers in a nod to the summer 1981 setting. It’s a couple weeks late for a Halloween-themed episode, but Legends of Tomorrow has never been especially interested in following tradition.
Of course, as fun as the genre riffs are, it’s the character interactions that we enjoy most about this show. And it looks like we’ll be getting plenty of them. With the former in the field and the latter behind a desk, Sara and Ava could use some quality bonding time, though we can’t quite imagine them as parents, given their personalities and nonlinear lifestyles.
Meanwhile, Rory and Charlie make a natural pairing. In addition to sharing the shape-shifter’s anti-establishment attitude, Rory was close friends with Amaya, and the show hasn’t addressed how her absence has affected him. Perhaps this episode will provide some resolution.
