Maisie Richardson-Sellers returns in this week’s ‘70s-set Legends of Tomorrow episode. Here’s the scoop on how you can watch.

After an enjoyable but somewhat messy season premiere, Legends of Tomorrow found its stride in last week’s marvelous hour. “Witch Hunt” transported the team to 17th century Salem, where Zari saved a mother from being burned at the stake and in the process confronted her bottled-up anger over her own mother’s death. In addition to the commentary on the horror of ignorance, there was a malevolent, singing fairy godmother, and two team members got briefly transformed into piglets. And because this is Legends of Tomorrow, it all fit together as well as Constantine and his trench coat.

What a gift of a show this is.

Tonight’s episode, titled “Dancing Queen,” looks to pull off a similar trick, alternating between the Legends’ supernatural hijinks and the Time Bureau’s bureaucratic hijinks. You can read the official synopsis below, courtesy of The CW:

"When the Legends discover a fugitive is hiding in 1970’s London, they realize he is part of a gang that is targeting the British Monarchy. Trying to stop the gang, they realize someone from the Legends must infiltrate them. Surprising everyone, Ray is the one to gain their trust after he is put through a series of tests with help from Sara and Rory. Meanwhile, Gary  shows Nate the ropes at the Time Bureau, but it turns out to be anything other than an ordinary day at the office."

More than any plot point, what makes the episode noteworthy is the return of Maisie Richardson-Sellers. This time, the actress plays Charlie, described as a trouble-making magical fugitive. Her resemblance to Amaya will presumably come into play somehow, though we might have to wait for her and Nate to interact since the latter is in Washington D.C. for the time being.

Speaking of Nate, it’s not surprising that, judging by the synopsis, Ray will get the spotlight this week. The friends parted rather abruptly when Nate decided to stay with the Time Bureau, and knowing Ray, it will take some time – and maybe some new friends – to move on. Should we be worried about the future of their relationship?

And, more importantly, will “Dancing Queen” involve any musical numbers?

Kristin Windell directs from a script by James Eagan and Morgan Faust.
