Dinah and Amy have very different experiences while giving birth on this week’s episode of Superstore.

It’s “Delivery Day” for two of our favorite Cloud 9 employees.

Dinah’s been pregnant for what feels like two seasons now while Amy’s only been knocked up for about a minute, but who cares about correct timelines when we can watch both women give birth at the same time?

Unfortunately for Amy, they won’t be giving birth at the same hospital.

Because Dinah agreed to carry Glenn and Jerusha’s child eons ago, she’s given the royal treatment during her delivery. A plush hospital bed, handsome male nurses, a room of her own. Just call her Beyoncé, folks, because she’s having this little bundle of joy in style.

Meanwhile, Amy’s stuck at a local clinic for low-income folks and the situation looks rough, not to mention unsanitary. Jonah’s with her, so at least she has her own personal punching bag to take out her frustrations on, but no one wants to experience the miracle of childbirth on a squeaky cot in a crowded room full of disease-ridden strangers.

While Dinah’s pregnancy has been a chance for actress Lauren Ash to really stretch her comedic chops, the show’s used Amy’s pregnancy to highlight the struggles many single moms face when they’re expecting. We saw how desperately Amy needed a baby shower in order to afford essentials for her newborn. We also saw how badly she wanted that vacation day so she could add it to her maternity leave because most moms just don’t get enough time off after the traumatic experience of bringing life into this world.

It makes sense that both pregnancy storylines would end this way, with Dinah continuing to enjoy the perks of extra hormones and her boss’ killer healthcare plan while Amy’s forced to suffer in the trenches of our broken healthcare system. Both experiences will be mined for as much comedy as the show can squeeze out of them, but here’s hoping Amy gets a win soon. Maybe some extra maternity leave? Or at least a hot male nanny to soften the blow of being middle class.
