American Horror Story: Apocalypse: Michael Langdon’s anger and army grow

In a preview for the next episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Michael Langdon shows being the Antichrist isn’t as easy as you’d think.

Eight episodes in, and you could say American Horror Story fans are more than eager to finally see some kind of battle between Michael Langdon and Cordelia. So much of the season has been flashbacks, crossovers, and build-up — so yea, we’re ready for the clash between witches and Satan’s spawn.

This week’s episode, “Sojourn,” seems to be leading the story up to that epic confrontation. While a “final battle” won’t happen until next week, it will probably lay some further groundwork.

Two episodes ago we were given a deep dive into Michael Langdon’s backstory and upbringing. Last episode centered around Cordelia and the Coven taking the necessary steps to get rid of, by means of murder, the warlocks who supported the Antichrist — including Michael’s Satanic guardian, played by Kathy Bates. Learning of her death, Michael’s definitely not happy and we can see how that anger will play into his fearsome takedown of humanity.

With “Sojourn,” Cordelia and Langdon will interact once again. While the synopsis of the episode isn’t out yet, you can watch the preview trailer right here.

In the trailer, Michael expresses his frustration with the dark responsibilities he supposedly as, saying nobody gave him an instruction manual on how to be the Antichrist. As he grows more powerful, it’s interesting to witness his ascension from a confused, teen boy to this terrifying, supernatural being.

Along with all the familiar paces so far in Apocalypse, we’ll see Evan Peters return to play his third character this season, as well as another character played by Billy Eichner.
