How to Get Away with Murder season 5 episode 5 live stream: Watch online

Annalise’s first re-trial based on her class action lawsuit could come to a close tonight on How to Get Away with Murder; here’s what to do to watch online.

How to Get Away with Murder should be wrapping up the first half of its fifth season fairly soon, so don’t be surprised if tonight’s episode, “It Was the Worst Day of My Life,” finally wraps up some storylines that have been circling around since the end of season 4. After all, there’s got to be some momentum for the back half of season 5, and we really don’t think Bonnie’s baby and the identity of Gabriel Maddox are really going to cut it for that much longer.

Granted, we’ve been wrong before when it comes to the show. However, the midseason finale is a bit of an established pattern for How to Get Away with Murder and, indeed, television in general.

ABC’s synopsis is as follows:

"After Annalise chooses Gabriel as her second chair, the unexpected duo puts all of their efforts into Nate Sr.’s murder re-trial as they try to convince a jury to grant an insanity plea. Meanwhile, Bonnie struggles to rebound after a dark part of her past resurfaces."

How many secrets or different “dark part[s]” does Bonnie have at this point? It’s not like the show has forgotten about them, either, particularly with the ongoing search for her baby taking up quite a bit of airtime in this young season. This isn’t to say that a character — or a person — can’t have multiple traumatic incidents, but it’s a lot for Bonnie in particular. This just makes it more difficult to keep them all straight.

As for calling Annalise and Gabriel an “unexpected duo,” that also doesn’t make sense. Gabriel’s part of the clinic, and though he got the second chair position mostly because Connor messed up last week, it’s not like Gabriel is incompetent from what we’ve seen of him so far. Besides, Annalise might think that she can get some more insights into him if she gets to see him as her second chair in a case that has some great personal importance to her. How much work is he willing to put in to impress her and get that year’s tuition? Or does the money not even matter?

Frankly, this might actually be a chance for Rome Flynn to make Gabriel compelling with more material instead of just randomly interjecting comments into everyone else’s conversations. He could use it, because he’s been doing just fine with that limited material.
