Arrow season 7 episode 2 live stream: Watch online

The premiere of Arrow season 7 shook things up big time. With the team scattered, it will take some ingenuity to stop Diaz once and for all.

Entering its seventh season, Arrow is determined not to fall into a rut. Last week’s premiere had several surprises in store, from the introduction of flash-forwards to the appearance of a mystery archer. Plus, Felicity got another makeover!

It’s actually a little disappointing to see William taken off the board so quickly. After Diaz blew his and Felicity’s witness protection covers, Oliver’s son was sent to a boarding school alone – presumably, to get him out of the way so the show can focus on the crime-fighting. But his and Felicity’s bond was a highlight of season 6, helping to balance out the gloom and doom. At least this means that, with Oliver in prison, Felicity can take a more active role in the plot.

Judging by the official synopsis, she will be front and center in this week’s episode, titled “The Longbow Hunters.” You can read the description below, courtesy of The CW:

"FELICITY IS DETERMINED TO FIND DIAZ AT ANY COST — In order to track down Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) from inside prison, Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes that will require aligning with an old enemy. Meanwhile, in Star City, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to root out Diaz are thwarted by Diggle (David Ramsey), whose allegiance to ARGUS now requires him to keep civilians like her on the outs. Realizing that she can no longer rely on her old team or old methods, a clear-eyed Felicity resolves to find a new way to go after Diaz."

So far, Arrow has kept its word on staying true to Felicity’s character and not turning her into an ass-kicking superhero. As her confrontation with Diaz showed, though, she has her own ways of fighting back, and they can be just as awesome. One problem: will she, Diggle, and Dinah figure out how to achieve their goal while working apart? Expect a lot of arguments about jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, it looks like Oliver’s troubles in prison are only just starting. The episode title teases the introduction of a group that should be familiar to DC fans. During Comic-Con, the casting of the Longbow Hunters, skilled assassins hired by Diaz, was announced. They include Red Dart, played by Holly Elissa; Michael Jonsson’s Kodiak; and Miranda Edwards’s Silencer. Their skills are on full display in the trailer for season 7.
